Hi, I’m Annie!
I am SO glad you are here and cannot wait to meet you! Nutrition can feel so confusing, especially for new moms or soon-to-be moms. I mean you are literally preparing your body to grow life. With everyone and their mother telling you what you should and shouldn't be doing, it can feel confusing. For myself, I have worked very hard to unlearn inaccurate nutrition advice that I have received in the past. The internet is full of misinformation and opinion. My goal for every woman I work with is to give them evidence-based nutrition recommendations that are realistic and relevant to their lives. I strive to help you every step of the way feel confident in your nutrition, reduce pregnancy complications, and help you grow a healthy baby while also supporting your own health!
After struggling with an eating disorder during my teens, my brain was surrounded by calories, weight loss, and restriction. I thought that thin equaled health. Through my recovery, I strived to learn what health meant for myself and I dreamt of someday being able to help others do the same. I spent 4 years obtaining my Bachelor’s of Science and Nutrition from Oakland University. After completing this, I went straight to applying to Eastern Michigan University’s accredited program in Dietetics to eventually become a Registered Dietitian. Here I spent 1,200+ hours working alongside amazing dietitians that made a true impact in patients’ lives. During my time at Eastern, I specialized in Pediatric/Maternal Nutrition working under dietitians in the community setting at Women, Infant and Children (WIC) and the Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) where I learned that nutrition is so much more than restriction. Nutrition is about growth, nourishment, and health. My passion is to help new mom’s learn how to eat to support their own health and the health of their sweet babies.
